How to Set up Marketing Automation: 10 No-Code Tools to Boost your Marketing Performance

Marketing Guides How to Build It
10 No-code Tools To Boost Your Marketing Performance

The marketing team drives users and revenue growth in every company. This team works under constants pressure to deliver more, faster. I've been leading marketing for the last 10 years, and growth was always one of my KPIs. And it never was an easy task.

To achieve fast and constant traction, the marketing function should be supported by other coworkers — designers and developers and have a strong MarTech stack in place. None of the marketing lead gen activity could exist without analytics, tracking, integrations, design, landing pages, and automation under the hood.

However, sometimes those things can be not on a priority list for design and development teams, who might be busy improving UX or rolling out new features. And the bigger the company is, the more process, approvals, and procedures it has. So getting something as simple as a new landing page with email automation from the tech team could take weeks.

Now, imagine some of this power is shifting into the marketer's hands. The marketers wouldn't need to ask the tech team for support or write a single line of code (or learn it on their own). That is exactly what “no-code” tools are doing to empower a marketing function. The lack of technical knowledge is no longer a problem for marketing leaders.

In this post, I'll walk you through a few super functional no-code tools and show how marketers can leverage them to enhance their marketing activities—so let’s dive in.

1. Airtable

Fundamentally, it is a very advanced version of Google Sheets or any other spreadsheet tool with a lot more functionality. Airtable is a spreadsheet-database hybrid that helps you create and organize databases with the same functionalities as a spreadsheet.

Airtable covers most of the customary features you would need to manage your project: security, management & planning, task scheduler and prioritization, automation, documentation & collaboration features. On top of that, Airtable also has budgeting features. - learn more in our detailed Airtable guide.

With the help of this tool, you can hand campaign management, content operations, social media planning, product launches, and lead management. Airtable can be used as the one source of truth for all the marketing efforts.

I use Airtable to keep on track all my marketing functions, being a power user. And if you are new to this tool, there are plenty of marketing Airtable templates available to help you get started.

2. Carrd

Carrd is a no-code tool that allows you to build simple, single-page, fully responsive websites. It also has options to integrate domains, payment gateways, and analytics.

Creating high-converting landing pages or a personal portfolio is always a time-consuming marketing task. However, with Carrd, landing pages can be completed in hours, giving you more time to focus on testing them rather than spending time on development.

I believe that no-code website development is the future of landing page creation. Let me explain this term a bit more:

A no-code website is a landing page built with the help of no-code website builders and platforms. It can be a fully functional multi-page website with comprehensive logic, various functions, customer-management systems, animations, and basically every feature of a custom-code build website. - read more in this comprehensive guide.

With tons of growth activities, the marketing department is doing, the speed of pushing them to users is critical. So if this speed would be 1-2 weeks for the landing page for your new e-book, would you be super happy? In that case, you will be able to get leads faster and meet your marketing OKRs easier.

3. Webflow

I'd love to cover one more tool for no-code website development, which would be pretty useful for marketing teams. Actually, we started using Webflow at Abstract, a design company where I was leading the SDK department. The reason behind this decision was to move all the blog content on the content management platform, where marketers can publish articles on their own.

It was 2021 and back then Webflow was a very trendy no-code website builder. Giving you fully customizable control over content, layout, functionality, and, crucially, the design of a website, it removes the dependency on a front-end developer. Again, the speed of releasing content now belongs to content marketers, not the tech team.

Moreover, Webflow enables the marketer to quickly build a website for customers, test viral campaigns, conduct A/B testing at an incredible speed of implementation. Better yet, it has the full functionality of a CMS with the option of third-party integrations.

4. Typeform

Marketers can not live without getting information about leads, which they are bringing via different marketing campaigns. We always need to have a lead's name for better customization, emails and phone number to follow up, role, and seniority to tailor the deal and even budget range to meet the price expectations. All this can be done with Typeform.

Typeform, used for creating people-friendly forms and surveys, has transformed the typical, boring standard form into an experienced tool designed for people with no programming expertise. It is easy to use, very powerful, and has a lot of integration. Think of it as form creator on steroids.

For a marketer, Typeform is a great tool not only for getting data about leads. It can be used to increase engagement rates by building interactive surveys, quizzes, polls. It also has more complex features, such as conditional logic that show questions dependent on respondents’ responses. I used it pretty often at WeLoveNoCode.

5. ConvertKit

ConvertKit is one of the most popular email marketing systems that requires no code. It is well known for its visual automation workflow builder that allows users to sequence emails based on certain triggers and user behavior.

The easy-to-use trigger-based sequencing and neat automation suite make it a great choice for email marketing campaigns. It also enables you to trade your digital items or subscription packages directly to your clients. No special tech skills are required neither.

We use ConvertKit together with Typeform and Tilda to run all our growth campaigns.

6. Klaviyo

Klaviyo is made specifically for e-commerce marketers, helping them personalize, target, optimize, and oversee email and social media marketing campaigns. Klaviyo has extremely powerful analytics that helps you predict the customer’s interactions and behaviors.

In fact, you can even use it to predict a customer's next purchase date. You can also determine the total amount of future spending, assess the probability of customer churn, and calculate customer lifetime value.

I would say that Klaviyo suits more bigger companies but it can be also a great marketing no-code tool for startups.

7. Mailchimp

How could I skip Mailchimp? Although I find their pricing too expensive for startups, this no-code email marketing tool is very powerful. Let's talk more about its features.

Mailchimp provides all of the fundamental emailing marketing features you need and landing pages and pop-ups to gather leads. It is excellent for e-commerce and offers one of the best integrations with other tools on the market.

This tool is also great for anyone who wants to collect emails for your beta list. So when your MVP goes live, you will already have real users. If you don't know where to start with getting users, check my eBook on Marketing for Startups. It covers 47 useful tactics to get new clients and achieve stable growth:

8. Adalo

While this no-code tool can be a bit advanced for marketing teams, let's talk about it as well. Adalo is online software that helps you build real native mobile apps with absolutely no code. It comes with components that are the building blocks of its editor, in which you can build your application by just dragging and dropping elements.

Besides the many features, Adalo is also compatible with various tools and applications, including Stripe, to accept payments. So if your marketing manager is curious to build an app over the weekends and go test it with users, Adalo is your best choice.

9. Bubble

With Bubble, you can create and launch almost any kind of website or app, including SaaS platforms, marketplaces, and CRMs, social networks, all without code. Everything is completely customizable - from relational data to product design and everything in between. It's a very powerful no-code tool that might be used by the marketing team as well:

With Bubble, you can build your logic and make sure your users get the best experience with every click. Bubble also offers a library of visual elements and dynamic containers so you can create news feeds, chats, and other real-time features quickly.

Bubble provides a no-code API connector so you can connect any API you would like to, including Javascript plugins. Bubble also has a plug-in marketplace where you can find plug-ins for anything you need. It's open-source so you can build plug-ins for the no-code community as well. - read more here.

For tech-savvy marketers or non-tech founders, Bubble is a great no-code platform to build the actual product itself. However, it's not as easy as Webflow, Carrd, or Typeform and does require some learning curve.

10. Zapier

Zapier is the best no-code tool for automating your marketing activities. It supports almost any program you need and provides valuable recommendations for combining marketing services in practical ways. Zapier can automatically handle manual repetitive work for you, so you can concentrate on other things that matter.

Good examples of using Zapier for marketing would be Slack notifications when customers request a demo, book a call, or leave their email or automatic Typeform survey sending when customers buy your product via Stripe.

Zapier has a long list of apps that are integrated with the platform. Plus, their development team adds new options regularly.

I hope you have already noted down some great tools to try in your marketing workflow! Also, there are many more awesome no-code tools for marketers, and you can see more of them in our no-code tools list here. This powerful no-code tool allows you to maximize performance and supercharge your marketing power.

For instance, social media mentions monitoring can be time-consuming with low ROI, Zapier does this automatically. Furthermore, it even connects these notifications to your chosen communication medium (Slack, Gmail, etc) to take immediate action on any bad press for the brand. The built-in digest app even records the day's summary and sends across a daily report for efficient work planning!

Other marketing functions such as growth support, lead tracking, and management, paid campaign management, email marketing, social listening monitoring, etc. can be easily integrated and automated as well.
